PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Our December 2023 meeting is all about connecting, collaborating, and celebrating our amazing members, and making our exceptional community even stronger than before!

We will start by conducting three 30-minute ‘Dolphin Tank’ sessions.  In each of the three sessions, one of our members will give a brief description of where they need help in their speaking business, then the group will brainstorm ways for them to jump-start or improve that aspect of their business.  It could be their website, marketing, developing their signature speech, or something else, but this will give them the opportunity to share what they need and draw on the wisdom and support from the NSA St. Louis community.  Not only will this help the person in the Dolphin Tank, the rest of us will also learn from the feedback they receive.

After the Dolphin Tank sessions, three of our newer members will give a 10 to 15-minute talk about themselves and their speaking business so we can get to know them better.  Audience members will also have a chance to ask questions following each presentation.

We will close with lunch, extended networking, and celebrating our community.

We hope you will join us for this special meeting with a focus on greater connections, collaboration, and community – and going into 2024 stronger than ever before!

National Storytelling Competition 2024

NSA St Louis Storytelling Competition 2024

A first-of-its-kind storytelling competition is coming to NSA St. Louis, and it’s the
perfect opportunity to showcase your talent and SHINE!

What’s it all about?

This storytelling competition was created by professional speakers for professional speakers.

Competition will occur on three levels: Chapter, Regional & National, with each competitor scored by professional judges on three tracks of Marketability, Impact & Presentation – at all three competition levels.

You’ll have 5 minutes to WOW and take your shot at being chosen as one of three finalists who will ultimately compete ON STAGE at Influence in August 2024!

Here’s how it will work:

~ 10 chapter members will compete at the local level on Friday, March 1st.

~ 5 judges will score each presentation based on Impact, Marketability, and Presentation – and 1 local contestant will be chosen to move on to the Regional competition and a chance to compete in the national level competition, on stage, at Influence 2024.

~ The first to submit their registration will fill the open slot, be added to the list of 10 competitors at the local level, and be asked to pay the entry fee of $25.  All other registrants will be added to a list of alternates who will compete if someone from the 10 drops out of the competition.  *Alternates will be added to the list in the order received.

~ Once you are registered, we will notify you by email and let you know if you are one of the 10 presenting on March 1st or an alternate.

We encourage you to review everything on NSA national’s website by clicking HERE.  Then download the documents below for guidance on preparing your presentation, including what the judges will be looking for from each submission.  These resources can serve as guides as you prepare your entry in this year’s competition.
